An Important Update from Life Instyle

An Important Update from Life Instyle This week has been pivotal in our planning for the upcoming Life Instyle event, scheduled for 20-23 February 2021. Unfortunately, it has become clear that the recent COVID-19 outbreaks are having an impact on our community sentiment.

Prior to these recent outbreaks of COVID-19, we were optimistic that Life Instyle Sydney would run safely and successfully next month. While we continue to have permission to operate the event under our detailed covid-safe plan with the venue and NSW government, with many of our community based interstate, border closures now mean they may be unable to attend in February.

As a result, Reed Exhibitions has taken the difficult decision to revise the show timing and with this in mind, we will be moving Life Instyle Sydney to the new dates of 17-20 April 2021, co-located with Reed Gift Fairs at the ICC Sydney.

While we understand that this is disappointing news for all concerned, we have as always, built a contingency plan to ensure that we are still able to support our customers over the coming months. Although the impacts of COVID-19 will be with us for longer than anyone may have originally expected, it is imperative that we work together to get back to business in the best way possible.

Why April?

A survey to our retailers at the end of last year showed a strong need for a Sydney show in 2021, with 75% indicating that April would be the preferred alternative month that would allow them to still achieve their business objectives, if we were prevented from running in our usual February dates. Additionally, not only does it give us another 8 weeks for the current pandemic conditions to come under control, it also does not sit too far outside the traditional buying period for many of our customers.

Reed Exhibitions remains committed to helping our exhibitors and retailers transact in these difficult times. Therefore, we are offering you a digital solution from February and a face-to-face solution in April. 

To help bridge the gap between now and April and to ensure we are still supporting your business sourcing needs during the traditional February buying period, we will proceed with a digital version of our Look Book as scheduled, along with our online Exhibitor Directory.

Exhibitions are back in New South Wales!

 

Reed Exhibitions Australia is delighted to announce that its February events,

Life Instyle Sydney and Reed Gift Fairs, have been given the official green light from the New South Wales government and NSW Health.

Opening at the ICC Sydney on Saturday 20 February, the decision to confirm two of Sydney’s most popular exhibitions is a welcome sign that Australia is open for business and that trade events will be the catalyst for growth in many different industries.

The annual economic impact of Life Instyle and Reed Gift Fairs exceeds $30 million and these two events remain pivotal to the future success of retailers, wholesalers, product designers and manufacturers.

After an extremely challenging 2020, Reed Exhibitions Managing Director, Brian Thomas, says this feels like a pivotal moment in Australia’s post-pandemic recovery.

“Trade events and exhibitions have always been places where entire industries come together in one place to celebrate what they do, build connections and, of course, trade.” Mr Thomas continues, “Now, more than ever, Australia’s key industries need that spark, that catalyst for growth that exhibitions are known for, from which a strong and speedy recovery can begin. And we’re delighted that Australia’s gift and homewares industry will be one of the first to benefit from exhibitions reopening in New South Wales.”

ICC Sydney CEO, Geoff Donaghy said the venue is delighted to restart its exhibition calendar and welcome back Life Instyle and Reed Gift Fairs.

“We are very pleased to welcome back the Life Instyle and Reed Gift Fair retail shows to ICC Sydney early next year, following updated advice from the New South Wales Department of Health. These will be the first exhibitions we have staged since the coronavirus pandemic and resultant government restrictions came into place in March. The exhibition industry plays a fundamental role within our business and we are looking forward to rebuilding this important market segment so that it is once again a thriving sector.”

Life Instyle and Reed Gift Fairs will have a multitude of COVID-specific safety precautions in place, offering much-needed piece of mind to both exhibitors and their customers. “We are delighted to be reopening our doors, but we will only do so with the most stringent safety precautions in place supporting the experience of doing business at an event,” says Mr Thomas. "This will include working closely with the ICC on the key areas of focus - physical distancing, participant wellbeing, hygiene and cleaning and tracing and record keeping.  Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our exhibitors, their customers and our staff.”

Life Instyle and Reed Gift Fairs open at the ICC on Saturday 20 February 2021, run for four days, and entry is restricted to wholesalers, retailers and retail professionals.
