Life Instyle sat down with Carolyn Dorrian, the founder of Mrs Tablescape to discuss her love to create unique table settings for her family and friends.

Tell us a bit about the story behind Mrs Tablescape.

I have always loved to create unique table settings for my family and friends. With the increased requirement to stay at home (due to COVID-19 lockdowns), I found myself escaping to the vintage yet contemporary world of tablescaping and table setting.

What was your inspiration and your brand mission?

To make every night a Friday night!

What sets your brand apart from others in the industry?

We design and manufacture all our products in Sydney, we don’t outsource anything. Our products are hand crafted so they’re unique and we also do private label because we have the machines.

The check plates and our signature napkins which we are launching soon!

What were the first steps you took to launch? And what would you say was the scariest part/your biggest fear?

First steps launching was when we opened our showroom, and we took a financial risk. That was the scariest part.

What do your customers love about your products?

They are very unique and not made in China. We are also doing bespoke pieces which customers absolutely love.

What path led you to Life Instyle and what about the show makes it a great fit for you?

Luck led me to Life Instyle and we are a great fir for the show because Mrs Tablescape’s strategy going forward is focusing on wholesale.
